Our Story
It all started in a small Los Angeles storefront back in 1999. Childhood friends and fashion lovers Christie Brown and Jill Thompson shared a dream of launching their own clothing brand that captured the laidback, youthful spirit of Southern California style. With just $10,000 in savings and a shared passion for design, the duo began producing their first line of dresses and blouses under the label “Christie & Jill.”
The response was immediate. Women fell in love with the romantic prints, flattering silhouettes, and ability to mix-and-match pieces to create countless looks. Within months, Christie & Jill was being sold in boutiques across the West Coast. By early 2000, we had reached nationwide distribution and developed a cult following of fans who couldn’t get enough of our effortless, carefree aesthetic.
Over the past two decades, the Christie & Jill brand has evolved and expanded while staying true to our founders’ vision. We now offer a full range of apparel, including dresses, tops, bottoms, jackets, shoes, handbags, and jewelry. Our designs are available in US sizes 0-24 to accommodate women of all shapes and sizes. While our product offerings have grown, our commitment to laidback elegance and California-cool style remains at the core of everything we create.

Real women in mind: We fit our samples on diverse models to ensure an inclusive range of sizes. Our goal is to design clothes with real women’s curves in mind.

- We aim for zero waste in our design process by utilizing scrap fabrics and sampling judiciously. All unused materials are donated or recycled.
- We print designs on water-based inks to reduce pollution. Any excess dye is captured and reused.
- We offset the carbon emissions associated with shipping our products and operate our offices using 100% renewable energy.
- As a brand primarily marketed to women, we donate a portion of proceeds annually to organizations supporting women’s health, education, and empowerment.
